Celebrate, we scored a slip for Pink Cloud in Hono !

new%20slip.jpg Last week we scored  slip F-37 in Ala Wai harbor, Honolulu.  Its a state run 660 slip marina (only game in town really).

So after a bit less than 3 years our wait is over,  we now have this beautiful 55' slip ( see pic)  for our Pink Cloud.  All we need is the boat here  (and pay the slip fees till i get Pink Cloud here)

I take her to Mexico next month…

Main sail boom track

Anyone have the track pull loose from the boom?

I had this happen off morro bay when coming down to LA.

Pink has aluminum spars (so i guess its not at all an original rigging configuration). Anyway there is a lenght of track at the outboard end of our alum boom. With a block that is adjustable on the track that hold my loose foot main . Allows for some out haul adjustment ( not that i think the heavy girl needs much adjustment like that). Well the track was screwed to the boom . Maybe… Continue

Wtb, tow behind generator

Anyone know of a tow behind or tip down generator for sale in LA- SanDiego area?
After much thought we have decided to go this route in combo with solar for off shore. ( instead of a 60" spinning prop blade that would live in an area i like to walk )
My autopilot requires battery as does nav equipment, not to mention the freezer and vacuflush , not to mention beer cooler.
Thanks for any leads.

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell. Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Hey Paul and Jan - Thanks for the welcome! I'm so excited to be an owner of this beautiful boat and can't wait to get her home :-) I see the owners on this site have been very busy and I've already found a wealth of information here. I've had an ongoing email conversation with Mr. Clyde as well and he has only added more passion and ambition to our quest of owning and restoring "Blue Angel"...a name that will soon change, but so as not to piss of Poseidon, we will refer to her as Blue Angel for now ;-)

Hi Paul and Jan, I bought the boat from Niel Penso, I was not aware of the boat being for sale but a friend of mine was moored two slips down from her and he said you need to look at this and so I did and did the wife, as the saying goes 'That's all she wrote', we bought her, a happy day,  Mike and Jo.

Well, this is a long time later - I just ran across this at random. I guess the board didn't notify me about the follow-up post!

If you're ever gonna be in the area, send me a direct message and it'll let me know. I'm always happy to show off SoNice. :)

Eddie Offermann

Captain Eddie,

I plan to be in Marina Del Rey this Friday Nov., 25.  I am sailing up form San Pedro for the weekend with a couple of mates on a Contessa 35.  If you are around let me know I would like to pick your brain maybe see your boat if the time is right?

Welcome aboard, Paul!  Glad to have you around!

I'm down in Marina Del Rey: if you sail down this direction sometime, hit me up!

Hey Paul, Welcome!  I'm on a Ketch rigged Newporter 40 anchored out on the Sacramento river right now.  If you ever need crew to go to Hawaii or need to talk to somebody with a Newporter in the SF area give me a jingle - my email is hans_petrie@yahoo.com.  I plan on skiing in Tahoe this winter but I'd be game to help you make the passage if you need it.  I've been thinking of doing it myself but just haven't yet.  Best!

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Clyde's email:

camgphil@msn.com

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
