The Masts are down! Napa Valley Marina - Napa California. I made it up the Napa river without running aground riding a 5 knot flood tide. The masts, booms, and bowsprit are now sitting in the yard. Removing them was easy enough since they had a manbasket to remove the triadic stay. It is a simple matter of removing all the turnbuckles and plucking them from the boat with a crane.
From what I can see the main mast front board has a seem where it has begun to separate all…

THE ROSTER
Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it. But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are. We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners. Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter sites:
and
The Ning site has been given a reprieve. I have transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.
Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.
My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail. Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory. Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.
If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.
Clyde's email:
Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line. Email is the best way to contact me. I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system. Email will get to me post-haste.

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

hey gang.
Yes, the boat deal is now closed. she is hull 53, 1957 per the cool plate in the pilot house.
She is in the delta, San fran. I have much to do, then will sail her home to hono after the first of the year
She is rigged as schooner, alum spars, 5 sails including "fisherman" should be fun in the trades.
Im in the market for new sails, existing are only ok.. im looking at the sailrite kits, anybody had experience with them. Unless I find a super deal I think ill sew my own when I get home ( Hono ) I want tanbark offshore cruiser sails NOT WHITE. My last set (white dacron) only a year old on my other boat (now for sale) had mystery stains after just months.... How does that happen when a sail is covered or rolled up in the furl? Anyway, Im going Linen or brown this time.
Fun site, look forward to being a part,
aloha
