We listed Leprechaun (Hull 70) on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace on Saturday afternoon and she sold Monday morning for a full price offer! Thank you Jesus! It was all Him. We had 14 interested people checking out the boat, when I arrived down there Monday, there were 2 people, both wanting to buy her!
The new owner had never been on anything larger than a dinghy and paid me cash and right afterwards left the dock just him and his dog to take her south from Morro Bay, to LA harbor…

a little bit about us and our beautiful :High Barbaree!
our new life journey started in October of 2023 when we purchased her! our girl was fully restored in 2005 but due to uncontrollable events she had to be put at a marina in maryland after sitting for so long weather and lack of attention started taking a major toll on her appearance but we came to her rescue and started our journey to bring her 400 nautical miles home to north carolina in november 2023 with 46 hours on the 4j…

Time to think about new owners, we are aging out. Not yet though, but sometime. Still in good shape.

My son Joshua, passed Leprechaun on to us, he has 2 young kids that keep him too busy to maintain her. We will be selling our current Newporter "Grace".
Joshua offered Leprechaun to us and she is so much further along than Grace that we couldn't say no. She has a much newer Yanmar diesel, aluminum masts, nice sails, the hull and house have been completely re-glassed over, all new electric........
The story with the boat is that back in the early 2000's she was inherited along…

I'm the proud owner of Hull #2 Newporter 40 "El Viento". She's birthed here in San Diego. Unfortunately my health situation calls for me to give her up and put her on the market. If anyone is interested please contact me at scottbon@sbcglobal.net ASAP. I'm looking for a new owner that loves the Newporter 40 and can give her the attention she deserves. My best regards to all.

Brought her up to Washington from San Diego, my friend and I waiting to take her around Vancouver Island. Will be wintering in Seattle. If you need help delivering boats on the Pacific Coast let us know. Altogether, we bashed and sailed different boats up and down Baja thirty one times. We are refitting three schooners in Mexico. Any information regarding my vessel would be greatly appreciated. Driftwood had an extensive overhaul in San Diego. We do not have a direct method of verifying the…

The Enterprise Hull 99 is late this year. Found a significant gap between the plywood and deadwood in the keel. The fasteners were gone. Replaced large sections of the keel plywood and bottom. Refastened with bronze screws. The fir deadwood in the keel looks great. Should make it in by mid July. This is our twenty first…

Spring 2020 and we're still working on fibreglass...what a terrible correspondent I've been! Here's what's happened since last I updated you all.
We replaced all the fibreglass on the cabin, deckhouse and most of the decks--some of it was still intact, at least! In the process, we had to replace a few sections of the deck, a bit of Cleopatra's couch and some of the gunwales that had just rotted right out. Elsewhere, liberal use was made of products like Rot-Fix, ScuptWood and…

Just an update on our progress, we have purchased new/used aluminum masts that we have had painted (white) and now we are in the process of getting the heat exchanger replaced. I have done my best to find a marine mobil mechanic for over a year to work on the old Osco 172 diesel ,we finally have someone that is a boat delivery captain/rigger/diesel mechanic, and just came back from a delivery and I am really trying to get all I can get done, before he leaves again. We live in a fairly remote…

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell. Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will…

After owning Western Way for the past 20 years the time has come for us to move to the "Dark Side". We sold our Newporter hull # 71 and have purchased a motor boat. They say the happiest times for a boat owner are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. For us every day we sailed was happy. Selling it was not easy and for everything we put into it, It was a sad time. However as well designed and constructed as the Newporter is the…

THE ROSTER
Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it. But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are. We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners. Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter sites:
and
The Ning site has been given a reprieve. I have transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.
Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.
My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail. Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory. Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.
If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.
Clyde's email:
Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line. Email is the best way to contact me. I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system. Email will get to me post-haste.
