Down to one Newporter

Our old Newporter "Grace" hull 40 on the left and our newer Newporter "Leprechaun" hull 70 on the right. We gave Grace away last week and it will be staying on our dock, cool to have them together.

I'm now a 2 boat owner, UGH! at least both boats are Newporters!

My son Joshua, passed Leprechaun on to us, he has 2 young kids that keep him too busy to maintain her. We will be selling our current Newporter "Grace".Joshua offered Leprechaun to us and she is so much further along than Grace that we couldn't say no. She has a much newer Yanmar diesel, aluminum masts, nice sails, the hull and house have been completely re-glassed over, all new electric........The story with the boat is that back in the early 2000's she was inherited along with $100,000 that…See More

Wu Wei last fall...

"Bob,  That is definitely the one that sold on ebay, the top of the bow has the same carved bird head, how many of those could there be, and also judging from this photo, she doesn't appear to have bulwarks/gunwales. In the listing it also…"

How did you get interested in newporters? Tell me a little about yourself.
Own hull #40 "The Red Witch" I fell in love with Newporters many years ago the moment I first saw one which I believe was Owlheart and it was in the Long Beach marina 30 years ago.

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell and comes with an as-new inflatable dingy, outboard, second set of sails and loads of gear.

Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Welcome to the forum, Greg! Can't wait to see Red Witch come back to life. $2500 for a Newporter that's not sinking is a steal - I'd have gobbled her up in an instant, too!

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Clyde's email:

camgphil@msn.com

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
