Newporter 40 Together

a beautiful boat should sail forever.

for Paul and others who want to add pictures

Paul, I think we all would like to see those pictures on repair work.  That's what this site is for.  So, here is how I do it.  On the opening page, where you view the "Latest Activities," there is a small white place asking "What are you up to?"  Just above this is the word Share:  Click on the next words "Blog Post."  That brings up a small window.  In the first white line type in your title.  In the white area below that you can write what you want to write.

To add pictures just click on the second icon from the left on the light gray line of icons just above the writing area.  Put your cursor on any of them and wait until the title of that icon shows up.  The second one says "Image" to indicate that clicking on that will take you to a window with a writing line with "Browse..." after it.  Click on Browse and you will be taken to your "windows explorer," or Directory as I call it.  Hunt through your listings to find the picture you want to add and click on it.  Then click OK and  Zap, there's your picture.  Continue your writing until you want to add another picture.  I think Bob has said that you can only add three pictures to a single post.

Then you can continue to write.  This was my best friend's Midget Mustang, a little homebuilt single seater, put here to demonstrate the process and how you can use this.

So send your pictures to whom you want to send them any way you want.  But remember, this is a Newporter site and if your picture concerns any Newporter we would be interested in seeing it.  So, what's an airplane doing here?  Nothing--it's parked.

I encourage you to go ahead and try this out.  You won't hurt anything and you'll learn a lot.  Remember, at the end you have to click on "Publish Post" in the lower right hand corner below the writing area to put your just written, just illustrated post on the site.  Or, you decide not to publish it -- just click Cancel and it's gone.....  Peace, Old Clyde, the guy who learned most things he knows by just doing it.

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
