How did you get interested in newporters? Tell me a little about yourself.
I have been taking sailing trips with my uncle out of Jacksonville FL for the past few years. Needless to say, I fell in love with sailing. I was born in Key West so I have salt in my blood. I found my Newporter sitting for sale in Tarpon Springs and knew I had to have her. Retirement is coming soon and I will join my brothers and sisters soon.

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell. Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Hi there Eric:

I am trying to keep up the roster of Newporters and the owners.  Could you call me so we can talk about #1.  I have her little sister #8 MISTRI.

1955 Newporter Hull # 1

Hello fellow newporters! I have just become the proud owner of "Aquila". It is a 1955 Newporter hull #1. Sadly the previous owner passed away of cancer during mid rebuild. He left me with a great hull and rigging to work with. I have the interior to rebuild and I am looking forward to the journey! I'm glad to be part of this community and look forward to corresponding with you all.

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Clyde's email:

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
