This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell and comes with an as-new inflatable dingy, outboard, second set of sails and loads of gear.

Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Hi Gary, miss seeing you, my years with SoNice flew by and now Eddy Offerman owns her. Eddy is on the rooster and a year ago made some posting on his activity with her. Bob Moxley who your dad purchased SoNice from died three years ago and his widow moved to the south. The Moxley best friends and constant sailing couple are now my neighbors in Leisure World Seal Beach, CA. During a chat one day I mentioned I once owned a Newporter and the rest unraveled, small world. Arthritis seems to be winning, but I am still fighting.

Gary, It looks like you have the Newporter Bug.  I've often thought about motorhoming around the country but my wife, bless her heart, in not the traveler I am and I'd much rather be here with her than to be any other place without her.  I suggest (which is something I seem always ready to do) that you choose that which is closest to your very being.

There are two things I really love to do: being on the water and being in the air.  But I remember very clearly two things: once while bringing a Newporter down the Delaware looking up at a Cessna 172 and saying "That lucky dog."  Then later while flying my little Cessna 150 from Delaware to South Jersey looking down on a small schooner and saying "That lucky dog."  Then I realized how lucky I was.

Peace,  Clyde

Gary,  Welcome aboard.  From what I have seen of the new owner of So Nice I can say that she is in good hands.  When you have finally gotten all the parts to Eddie please consider staying aboard as a member.  It gets very interesting here once in a while and you will enjoy it.  Peace, Clyde

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
