How did you get interested in newporters? Tell me a little about yourself.
My husband and I bought a Newporter in 1992, completely refurbished it, lived and cruised on it for three years. My husband passed away, I have sold the property where the Newporter is sitting in Western North Carolina, yes in the mountains.....and now need to sell/move her before the end of April, 2015.

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell and comes with an as-new inflatable dingy, outboard, second set of sails and loads of gear.

Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Denise,  Oy, what a job you have!  We hope you will post some pictures and tell us some stories about your experience with your Newporter.  Most of the people who enter this site already have Newporters but others of our number are most likely here because they are interested in these great sailboats and they may consider your boat a worthy purchase.  We don't have ads on the site but flood us with stories and pictures and some details of your refurbishing and sailing experiences and that will be how we will read them.  Then somewhere in all that a mention of your present problem and who knows?  Pictures are always a welcome site, if you know what I mean.  All owners know their boats are the prettiest of the Newporters but we all like to see all those interesting personal changes and additions other owners have used to make their boat a personal expression of themselves.  Sometimes this gives us ideas for changes in our own vision of what ours can be.  Thanks for hopping on board.  Make your presence known.

Peace, Clyde

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
