This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell and comes with an as-new inflatable dingy, outboard, second set of sails and loads of gear.

Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

And you wouldn't happen to be Charlie Sassara the alpine climber would you? If so, you'd be interested to learn that Resolute has a sort of alpine pedigree now - having taken myself and climbing partners on seaborn expeditions to St Elias and Waddington.

Hi Charlie. Got your message. Resolute is hull #65. There appears to have been some work done on the transom but its hard to say if its been replaced (so good job if thats your work). I purchased the boat from Kim & Polly Johnson of Oceanside/San Diego in 2006. They had sailed the boat around SoCal for about 15 years. I also met a guy in Seattle who had sailed with Resolute from San Francisco to Coos Bay Oregon. I'd be interested in trying to confirm if this was in fact your father's boat as I'm really interested in her history. Cheers and welcome to the site.

Charlie,  Good to have you with us.  Feel free to make comments and ask questions.  One of the things I like about this site is that the members feel free about asking their questions and chiming in whenever their experiences have something, anything, that will help someone.  You'll see me around the site and I welcome you.  It makes no difference to us how much experience you have with or without Newporters, we just enjoy hearing from each other.  Peace,  Clyde

Welcome aboard! Current Newporter owner or just interested in the boats? Either way, glad to have you on the site!

As you'll see, I'm one of the regulars here - actively upgrading and customizing a 1959 Newporter (Hull #71) - one of the west coast boats - in preparation for extensive cruising, initially to the South Pacific. Whatever your interest, you'll certainly find something here.

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
