"Note that the left handed threads on the bolt that is on top when rigged. The lower bolt requires right hand threads. This is so the "standard" tightening motion is used to shorten or tighten the shroud or stay. All turnbuckles should have the right handed bolt on the bottom so those who are responsible for tuning the rig will not spend a lot of time figuring which way to turn the turnbuckles. I personally would at the extra length to the bottom bolt, functionally top and bottom are equals."
