Newporter 40 Together

a beautiful boat should sail forever.

When we purchased the boat, we were given this old picture of MISTRI. As you can see the hull was gray from the rub rail down and white above. However, when we bought it most of the white and gray paint was peeling off. We used a heat gun, and removed all the white paint above the rub rail, painted it shamrock green, and replace the rub rail with a vinyl rail from Hamilton Marine.

I have to say, just so no one gets the wrong idea - I greatly regret that my boat is not in good enough shape, yet, to carry masts. Muff - the boat is beautiful no matter what color you paint it!
Bob, This is Jakki. Thank you for the compliment. By the way how do you work this site so we can coordinate the pictures with our discussions. We tried to upload the photos but they are not being placed along side our message, although I noticed that if you look further down on the discussion the photo we uploaded appears if you click on it. Please help.
Jakki and Muff
Yea, I noticed the photo was not right there - that's why I got your attachment and featured it (unfortunately my name comes up with it). Here are 2 ways that I know of to do photos and text together. 1) If you want a discussion or "forum", when you open and enter your "post" text, you will see a few icons, the last one being a camera. Just click on that and the "browse" process will begin, where you just click on the photo you want, then "add". IF you want the photo at a certain location in your post you use EDIT, CUT and PASTE - otherwise it will be at the beginning. (Karen figured that out)
2) SIMPLE!!!! here is what I do sometimes - the heck with a big "forum". I just go to the right of the main page under QUICK ADD and go to PHOTO. Do the BROWSE click, choose your photo, and ADD. Then I ADD A COMMENT to my photo. (ADD A COMMENT comes up when anyone clicks on the photo.)
As a general rule anytime anyone posts anything I will work to see that it is "featured" in one way or another so a visitor will see the new activity. Hope this helps. Let me know if these don't work and we will figure out what we need to do.

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
