Hi Everyone,

Well I not sure how to say this or if it will be any easier no matter how I state it. We have found with the storm and all that entailed plus being so far from Moonfleet we are not able to keep her. After searching and talk to tons of people I have finally find a sailing group that is going to repair her and use her in their youth program. They lost all their boats during the storm and are very excited abotu having Moonfleet in their family. I will try to keep her ppage updated so everyone knows what she is up to and update pictures if I get them.

For everyone that has been on my short but wonderful ownership of the Newporter named Moonfleet I will always be thankful. You are great people and I'll never forget the stories and advice.

hey - while I am sorry about you having to give up Moonfleet, THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE TO GIVE US UP AS WELL. The amount of energy you share is irreplaceable. Just hang right in there with us. Post something in the next couple of days, and regularly, or I'll send a Texas Ranger to get you! I'm serious.

Well, just met Ms Justine and took possession of her Newporter 40. Two beautiful ladies.

Strangely enough I went to Florida two weeks ago to take delivery of another Newporter 40 but the eBay listing was so much in error we refused it. I returned to Houston and was talking to John Coggin who runs a local sailing club and he told me he had just received info on another Newporter 40. As he did not have time to look at it I did so and the rest happened pretty quickly.

I was wondering what to do this summer...now I know! We'll keep a diary of repairs to damage done during Hurricane Ike and will post same to this site. I am certain I'll be back looking for tips and tricks and ideas.
Hi everyone.

Well just returned from Houston area ( Clear Lake). Moonfleet's new home is going to be great. Maybe not as fancy but more sailboats and less motor yachts. The group that adpoted Moonfleet and of course her new friend Ted Daniels, I feel will take great care of her and she will back to new as soon as possible. As soon as she gets to her new home she is going to be hauled and inspected. Having survived the storm and what she went thru I am curious what is under there myself. Everyone keep their fingers crossed for a good report :)

Blessings

Well I just thought that I need to hand the Moonfleet space over to Ted and the sailing group. So someone give me an idea for a name for myself. Geez I have been Moonfleet's mom so long it is going to be weird just being me :)

Oh don't worry there is Newporter blood running thru my veins now :) I won't be forgeting you. Heck who is going to find the playboy article for you guys :P I'll start working on the trivia for the Newporter again. Small bits of information that isn't really tech stuff but interesting.

And even if Moonfleet isn't really mine yet there are still things I'm curious about that until I get an answer it will bug me. Also I will keep on reading everything everyone writes and phtos.

hey justi, check out the modification on the Hawaii boat. They cut off the back off the pilot house and added an aft cabin, which gave them a center cockpit. Pretty interesting!!! I wonder if they brought the floor level up enough so they could see well from the helm? I am going to grap the photo and post it on out site. bob

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Clyde's email:

camgphil@msn.com

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
