Functionally repaired (finally) the step down into the cabin. The bulkhead had been modified for the new engine and I've had a temporary fix in place for a while. Tore out the temp fix and rebuilt it to be more sturdy and permanent. I have some of the new cosmetic face for it finished, hopefully will be able to finish that next Saturday. Soon... New floors. Not sure exactly when I'll tackle that. But soon!
Waiting on some parts for the RGB LED strip lighting. They should be in this week and I can finish that up. I love the look and being able to change the color, intensity or turning them on and off by the remote is great. They provide a lot of light and when looking down into the boat, you can't tell where the light is coming from: it's just well lit down below. Very nice.
Picked up some Solar LED stanchion lights - mounted two on the stanchions amidships and have two more on order. They give a nice light on deck and along the dock and run all night long under charge from the day.
Put lifeline netting on the lifelines forward of the boarding area up to just before the stem. It was tricky - the secret is leaving the net itself loose, wrapping it evenly, and letting the lifeline and whatever bottom support you're using provide security. I ran an extra nylon line taught between the stanchions at the bottom to anchor the bottom of the netting. We have no children or pets - but I like the appearance and will be able to relax a bit more about whether I'm going to lose PFDs over the side or whatever. The additional safety factor is just a bonus - certainly my girlfriend feels relaxed that she can lay out on the foredeck with less likelihood of rolling off the side.
Ordered new fenders, adjusters and line - the old, mismatched and un-bleachable ones can become in-place dock bumpers and such, but they've got to get off the boat. These are navy blue and black which will look really nice against SoNice's color scheme. She's rapidly on her way to looking like a real lady! When they come in, I'm probably also picking up a couple fender brackets so they don't have to just find a random spot to be stowed and can have their own place.
I'll have pictures as these things come together.

Thanks, Bob! I've been going through these guys: http://www.ledwholesalers.com/store/ - but I like the organization of the site you linked. I have more projects along these lines coming up, so I'll keep them in mind too.
hey eddie - try www.superbrightled.com for some good stuff - like LEDS with the socket inserts that will fit your existing sockets!

THE ROSTER
Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it. But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are. We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners. Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter sites:
and
The Ning site has been given a reprieve. I have transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.
Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.
My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail. Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory. Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.
If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.
Clyde's email:
Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line. Email is the best way to contact me. I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system. Email will get to me post-haste.
