This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. She is priced to sell and comes with an as-new inflatable dingy, outboard, second set of sails and loads of gear.

Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Joe,

Welcome aboard!  This is the home port of many Newporters, and it is from here that many Newporters set sail.  One of our interests centers on the repair and upkeep of these fine vessels because "A beautiful boat should sail forever."

History is also listed as one of the areas of interest, and to me that means more than the history of any or all of the Newporters.  There are members here, many of them active members, who do not own a sail boat, let alone a Newporter (I am one of them), so I ask you for some history: what is your interest in boats in general, Newporters in particular (in case you are interested in them).  This is NOT a requirement--just an interest of mine, and I'd be interested in your "boat history" and the kind of work on boats you may have done.  Having worked on boats a good portion of my life I'm always interested in this kind of history.  So, since this is not a requirement, do as you will, but I for one will joyfully wait for an answer, remembering all the time that no one ever pushed us for answers.

Peace, Clyde

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
