a beautiful boat should sail forever.

This looks good. Follow the angle down and you see the top bolt of engine bracket. Bottom bolts to that. Rusty brace goes over thermostat housing to tapped hole in head, and right at the left edge center is another available tapped bolt hole as well (right in front of the brown tap- but hard to discern) I don't see any reason for the double angle and platform - a single piece of stout angle should work fine. The pulley alignment should not be difficult. I guess maybe the platform allowed for tensioning the belt, but that could be done with slotted braces as well. As far as the height, just measure up from the bracket bolt and cut the angle to fit in your compartment. Mine from the bolt is 15 ", and from the engine beds is 25".

Ah ha! I see you are not above using secret weapons. Can I assume the emergency pump with the electric clutch gets switched on in an emergency? It is a little off the wall, but can you put the unit in with the pump facing aft? Anyway, the conversation has been good, and I got mine worked out. Feel welcome to post anytime.

Hi Bob , I can see the bracket, all this is giving me more pieces of the puzzle, my engine bay space is very limited to the sides and from the center of the crankshaft pulley to the top of the engine, I can barely fit the 7 inch diameter electric clutch pulley, I do have a lot of space front and down . There is probably were it will end . It will not happend quickly... But it will happend

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.
