happy new year to clyde and mary!!!!! And everyone else as well!!!
I had been piddleing and piddleing, working on these side deck beams, and lo and behold we had a really warm sunny day, and I was completely ready to go, and I cranked them out, epoxy, fasteners, and all. How warm was it? I had my shoes off was in shirt sleeves by 10:00 in hot sun. Good gosh those are good looking feet, aren't they eddie? All the epoxy had gone off by the time I left at 5:00. So the deck beams are good to go on the port side (after a little manicuring) from stem to stern i.e. I am ready to join the good back deck with the good front deck, which is a pretty great pleasure.(on port side). You can see the new "outer carlin" that ends of the deck beams are epoxied and screwed to. On the interior side the outer carlin gets another structural trim board attached to it, both being supported by the plywood bulkhead side cabinet slices at frequent intervals. Between each deckbeam is a 2x1 1/2 that runs along the carlin, (not there yet) and is screwed to the carlin and the deck, and then the cabin side is screwed and glued to the carlin, making a very strong junction (see earlier post on cabinside repair if you need photos) You can also see the new 5/4" addition to the 3 original layers of inner clamp, essentially running the full length of the boat. friend bob

THE ROSTER
Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it. But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are. We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners. Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter sites:
and
The Ning site has been given a reprieve. I have transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.
Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.
My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail. Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory. Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.
If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.
Clyde's email:
Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line. Email is the best way to contact me. I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system. Email will get to me post-haste.
