How did you get interested in newporters? Tell me a little about yourself.
I'm buying one, I worked at Mauricio & Sons Custom Boatbuilding and Repair on Shelter Island in the early 1970's; my Dad was Master Shipfitter there, They literally started me at the bottom; washing & scraping bottoms.

This is George Henderson, owner of "Faith," Hull #69 located in the Boston area. Just letting the community know that she is on the market since I now live in CO. Makes me sad but I'd like to see her legacy continue. If you know of a potential buyer I can be reached at georgehenderson.usa@gmail.com / 857-221-1581. She is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. There are pics on my members' page and a link to a Google Drive folder is below, where you will find pics and a survey.

Franz, Welcome aboard a great little website about a great little vessel.  We are glad to have you here.  Do some intense digging around this site to get used to it and it will give you a lot of information about your boat.  I'm glad to see your Newporter in your hands since you are no stranger to the inner workings of boat repairs.  Let us know if you are having problems or questions and we'll do what we can to help you.  Many of our members are working on their boats and may have the answers you need.  Some of us can give some wild guesses as to what to do.  We all have fun on boats and as a combined force we have been all over 'our' boat so one of us should be able to help where needed and many of us can offer some advice whether you are interested or not.  WELCOME, and don't be bashful about giving us some of your stories.  Clyde

THE ROSTER

Muf, our Keeper of the Roster, has updated it.  But he still needs information on boats out there that he doesn't have, like new owners, old owners, where any of the boats are.  We don't post the roster on the web site, it is only sent to owners.  Please send him anything you might have, or call him at:

Captain Clyde's Newporter  sites:

newporters.blogspot.com

and

newporter.ning.com

The Ning site has been given a reprieve.   I have  transferred my Ning site to the blogspot site and will leave it there. I am keeping my Ning site open as a home for my photos and drawings.

Many of my photos there do not relate to Newporters, but a search through my collection may prove useful for your studies.

My drawings are not accurate in many respects as a result of the PAINT program used to draw them, There is no accurate scale and at best they are only useful to indicate some specific detail.  Some are inaccurate because of my poor memory.  Use them to help you think, not as a detailed presentation of the subject matter.

If any of you want to start a web site I suggest you remember what has happened to both my Ning site and this site (which is a Ning site) and remember that my Blogspot site is free and Blogspot's owner (Google) has promised to keep it that way.

Clyde's email:

Put 'Newporter' on Subject Line.  Email is the best way to contact me.  I do not regularly look at this site or its messaging system.  Email will get to me post-haste.
