I MADE A PROTOTYPE by using a 1 1/2" hole saw.
First I cut a flat piece of teflon on the table saw to the length I thought the spacer should. Then I took the 1 1/2" inch hole saw and cut out a 1 3/8" plug, and then carefully drilled a 5/8" hole for the shaft. When I assembled everything the spacer met all criteria, except for being brass. Probably will still try it.
REMEMBER, THE BLACK PLASTIC CYLINDER IS ONLY SHIPPING PACKING!!!
