future of Newporter 40 Together

Hello from "Friend Bob".,  I will be brief. I started this site, with help from the Newporter community, in 2009. I had bought a Newporter and started rebuilding it. I am still at it, but the community started aging out, and the site became much less active. It is still alive, but running on 2009 software, with me footing the bill for all those years (it wasnt to bad). To upgrade (migrate?) to some current iteration would be costly. And I don't know that participation would improve so I am not inclined to pay out of my pocket for a non existernt community, or a community that does not contribute enough to make it worth while. So we are at a crossroads.

The information that Captain Clyde Phillips has contributed is priceless on both construction and sailing of Newporters. He worked actually building Newporters at the Dorchester Shipyard back in the day. I have visited him several times, and he is a very special friend. If the site goes under that information is probably gone, because it exists no where else, so if you want it, copy it now.

The collection of photos on the site document the Newporter community as it existed from 2009 forward.

So I am opening this discussion asking for input as to what the future of this site and the Newporter community as represented by the site might be. For those of you waiting to join, I am sorry but the site is limited to 150 people, so welcome to use and peruse, but membership at this point is maxed out.

                                              Sincerely, Friend Bob
